The Irony of Patty and her group singing Twister Sister...

They were suppose to be a right-winged group who were opposed to rock music corrupting youth and all that. And in the movie, they were singing Twister Sister music. A group in which it's lead singer in reality was fighting the PMRC back in the 1980s for creative freedoms for musicians in the 1980s.

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" was written, recorded and a great 80's song by Pat Benatar. A a Twisted Sister at heart, but a member of Dee Snyder and TS she was not.

I think the OP was referring to Patty and her group singing Twisted Sister's "We're not gonna take it" in the street battle with Lonny and his group who were singing "We built this City".

Lonny even called them the "Twisted Sisters of Piety" as they were demonstrating outside the club.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

Lol. I totally got this. Countering this was the preppy song "We built this city" which was a joke among headbangers. What a hilarious play against each other.

reply

What's more ironic is that in the original show We're Not Gonna Take It was sung by protesters trying to stop the strip from being torn down.

reply

A right winged group led by Tipper Gore? Hmm.

I call woo woo on you,
