What is with the dude with Tattoos and skull mask on his face (spoiler)
He is on the poster of the movie and appears for like 5 seconds in the whole movie, i feel bad for the make up artist who did all the work lol

shareI think that guys tattoos are authentic.. And they used him for that reason.. And yeah I thought the same thing.. There is no reason whatsoever to add an extra to the poster.. But then again, this movie was pretty much a disaster through and through.. So who cares anyway hahaha.
shareHe is real yes, but still doesn't explain why is on the poster

Just a bad decision in the marketing department.. They probably realized the movie was awful.. So their only strategy was to make it appear as though the movie had a diverse culture of characters.. Maybe, I don't know..
shareMaybe lol
shareThey said to themselves, let's put him on the poster, he looks badass and gullible moviegoers will think it's one of the tough guys they have to kill. This is plain labelling fraud . This movie is disastrous on so many levels.
shareI totally agree with you
share"This is plain labelling fraud" haha I thought the same - Gotta be false advertising
sharePerhaps his role was lengthier but was finally cut off.
I remember seeing some additional material of him in one of the trailers, which wasn't in the cut released on bluray.
Due to studio interference, the film saw several script changes during filming, and a radical re-edit during post-production. The part of Yorick van Wageningen, who originally had a significant supporting role as Kapitan, was cut back to a silent cameo due to these decisions.

Well, that makes sense a little bit, this movie could have been really epic..i was really disappointed
shareIt looks like the movie saw extensive cuts similar to what happened to kingdom of heaven.
If you look at the earlier trailers you can see there is significant difference.
*beep* studios ruined that film I bet
I ask myself the same question... But here is what I know: That isn't make-up. He really has tattoos on his entire body (yes including his face). He also appears in the clip of Lady Gaga - Born This Way (we all know that is not true, everybody comes out from his mother's belly naked and without tattoos). He also is a model and that's it.
But what the froyo? He appears in the trailer four times; that's a lot for a character that merely has a cameo role (if we can name it a cameo). And scenes where he appears in the trailer were cut out. So basicaly he was no use to the story, has nothing to do with the plot or anything. And he appears on the poster as well. Very disappointed in this movie. Only the sword fights were great.
aside from the skull & tattoo guy, another curious choice for the poster is featuring the witch as the next most prominent character. this leaves out the main japanese dude and keanu's girl, who were both more "main" characters than the witch.

Others allude to this below, but apparently this script got seriously jacked up by the studio. Watch this trailer:

You can see scenes with the skull and bones guy that aren't in the movie, as well as many other lines and scenes that weren't in the movie. I think the dutch guys were supposed to have a much larger role.
