It cost more than GoTG to produce?!?

WTF!!! I cannot believe the production budget was listed at $175Mil. I enjoyed the movie but it didn't seem to have that kind of production value. It seems like it should of been in the $85-100Mil range tops. I wonder if it suffered from same woes as MIB3 did causing it to be so expensive...possibly only finished producing it since they started haemorrhaging money in production and had to release it just to recoup some of it.

I thought it was a good movie but damn, not from the financial side of it.

according to wikipedia "47 ronin" is the biggest box office flop ever.

I tried looking up why this movie cost so much to make but nothing. I would really like to know why. It wasn't a "great" movie but not bad either(I liked it). If it wouldn't have cost so much to make, it should have made it's money back easy.
