Marginally better than Evil Dead (2013)

Evil Dead (2013) was a very good film. The major action was concentrated only in the second half.

But this went up to another level; great thrills, unique horror moments (the scene shot from the eye-hole pov) & much much bloodier.

I agree. I love both films, but I liked the new setting and the family dynamic at play in this one.

Both movies are seriously flawed, but I like 2013 more. I felt Evil Dead Rise plummeted into boredom right after the incantation scene. The Deadites in Rising seemed no more dangerous than a regular human. The ball Deadite at the end was less of a threat than if they just remained as separate humans.

It reminded me of Hellraiser 2022 where they just lumber around and that supposed to be scary.

I am with dwellroftwilight on this . They had deadites but only three really did anything memorable . They actually set up a child deadite in this film ! They could have shown more of him to max up the creepy factor for example but nope him and the other deadites where just background filler. In comparison to the 2013 film that made the very best out of every deadites they had in the film, this was a let down for me.

I like both films but if they had made stinger demons the film would have been over very quickly. I felt the girl demon in the kitchen eating glass should have a bigger demon part.

What ever happened to all the demon neighbors “dead by dawn” ?
