SPOILERS! Detective Morton in the end.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but when Morton is having the conversation with Warwick about the Polaroid, Warwick just brushes it off as a very resourceful photo manipulation from John, despite all the evidence suggesting it would have been a very difficult and near impossible fake polaroid to create. Then Warwick casually suggests that he and Morton have dinner while Morton investigates his home.

Is Morton seriously that stupid to just drop protocol over a delightful dinner with a potential criminal involved in a bank heist just because he said a Polaroid like that is just plain silly?

I definitely enjoyed the movie and got a few chuckles out of it, but that ending just didn't sit right with me.

I think Morton was humoring him but intended to fully investigate while in Warwick's home. A fake Polaroid is *very* hard to master.

With all due respect, a fake polaroid would not be hard to master, particularly where the quality level was so poor.

You photoshop a regular picture, reduce the contrast and gamma, and then make a large print. You then shoot the fantasy print with the polaroid camera. You might need to hold a closeup lens in front of the polaroid camera, but the polaroid positive will build the contrast and gamma back up to normal. It would take a little trial and error, but anyone with a basic understanding of photography and digital imaging could do it.

This is true.

Not only did Morton know him for 6 years, but also Warwick is Morton's senior. In essence he is accusing his hierarchy and if he was wrong well that would be his career *beep* So if his senior was to accept to the search but with method more convenient for him, considering his friendship and position he would be inclined to accept it.

reply

Yeah and I see a lot of cop movies where a detective goes alone. If I were a cop and suspect someone in my unit I would have backup.

reply

LOL, yes. Cops just running blindly into suspected areas is always hilarious. The "Saw" series was the worst ever at this...

Not only was the ending stupid, but it also made no sense.
Let's say Morton goes to Warwick, then what?
Warwick clearly hasn't hurt anyone. So what would he possibly do to Morton?
