No. John mailed that photo from Mexico. He shoved in down the back of his pants (or back pocket) at 44:49 minutes into the film when Warwick went to get the blue drink before the line dance. So we'd have to assume that Warwick got it out of his pants before putting John outside in the morning. Just doesn't seem likely and was never filmed as such.
It's lame that John wouldn't attach a letter with some details exposing the cop to the maximum. I don't care much for films with a "bad guy gets away with even more" type of endings, especially when we must suspend disbelief so much at that point. Now we have to assume that Warwick will commit murder on a smart cop that is "dumb enough" to go to dinner party in place of an official house search of a potential police accomplice to robbery. It seems a cheap and unsatisfying way to conclude a film that had potential earlier on.
The Australian postmarks are just another suspension of disbelief. Would Warwick really go to all the effort to buy custom stamps for forging offical-looking postcards when they are only meant to satisfy his psychosis? Ridiculous.
