The last 15 minutes (spoilers)
The last 10 or 15 minutes were stupid and cheesy. They should have just ended it with the detective opening up the letter and discovering the Polaroid.

sharethe movie became unbelievable and silly when we discovered that Warrick is a cop. Not just a cop, a cop who happened to be tracking the the protagonist. What are the odds of the guy just walking into his house? and then there is ANOTHER coincidence on top of that one, Warrick is an insane serial killer. Too many coincidences make it completely impossible and stupid.
shareAgreed! Also the fact that Warwick is sitting at home preparing for a non-existent dinner party instead of working the case that his unit is assigned to? Three-hundred grand gets stolen from a bank and the lieutenant in charge is at home cooking dinner for his multiple personalities? Way too many coincidences and plot-holes to be even somewhat believable.
shareI know, I would had liked an ending with the girlfriend going into Warwick's house (sweet revenge)..forget the guy being a detective..John tracks her down, she tells him she played him, but then changes her mind when he's in control with a gun and about to go off with the money, he then pretends to fall for it and tells her that they both deserve 50/50..but he's gonna only give her 25% now and if she wants the rest and be together meet him at his friend's house later (Warwick). Finished with him phoning Warwick, and letting him know that a friend will be coming to dinner later...and to be the "perfect host". Ending with Warwick asking does she like red or white wine, with an evil grin on his face and glare in his eye.

yaa pstapley that woulda been way cooler.
shareWhat I loved about this movie was that it was kind of a inverted home-invasion - thug gets invited in, tries to take the host hostage, but oops, the host is just as psycho and gets the upperhand. The premise had all the potential in the world.
However, I felt like the movie would've benefited from a downer ending of sorts. I didn't personally feel that there was really a protagonist in this film... they tried to humanize the thug, but he wasn't likeable enough (to me, anyway) to get a happy ending and the host was batsh!t crazy. That's not to say that this film wasn't enjoyable, though... I just think movies with no clear protagonist need to pack a punch in other ways and this movie could've ended things on a more creepy, sinister note.
As it is, the movie became a mess once you realize that the wounds on the thug were fake and the host had set him free, for whatever reason. I didn't really understand why and felt like the movie up to this point was really well done. They needed to go with a simpler approach at the end because it was kind of a mess the way they did it. I guess they were going for something different, but it was lost on me.
