shot in the foot?

The biggest thing that bugged me about this movie is that John apparently has a gunshot injury to his foot from the robbery gone wrong. When we see that aside from his GF snitching on him, the robbery went off without a hitch - his unexplained foot injury is even more suspect. How did this happen? did I miss something?

I couldn't find another thread (at least a recent one) so I figured I should make my own.

Good point. Just MAYBE the security guard at the bank shot at him. They never said how it happened but his injury was a big part of the movie

Looked like a cut to me. I assumed he cut himself running away.

It is explained at one point in the movie. I think it is in the news report while he is in the gas station, IIRC. I remember them saying he kicked through a window.
