We're going to need a new term. Sacrifice porn? Surgery dystopia?
Slightly OT since this isn't exactly where Ishiguro was coming from, but with The Hunger Games and now Unwind, Never Let Me Go is gonna be lumped in with this gross pop culture trend. Some of these practitioners are clearly in it for the gore and the manufactured mental cruelty. People are gonna fall for their claims of "disturbing social commentary" or "provocative dystopic vision" blah blah.
