3 donations...

so can someone please explain to me how anyone would survive three donations? i'm thinking, a lung, a kidney and... a chunk of skin?? i just don't understand how some clones lived past the 3rd donation. what am i missing here? what could be the three organs missing that would allow someone to continue with life?

The liver (or parts of it) and the intestine can be taken without killing the donor.

It doesn't seem to be the same three organs from each donor. One of the donors Kathy cared for had a patch over her eye. This would suggest an eye had been donated, or the cornea. Normally, a cornea has to be taken from a dead donor, but maybe with clones the rules are different.

thanks. which brings me to my next question: if they could clone an entire human being, why not just clone the organs instead?

Someone started a thread about that:
