The fact that this movie has been misunderstood is bothering me deeply..

People say that the organ farm idea is unethical and that the donors don't defend themselves is unbelievable. But how much do they really know?
As far as I can see, in the movie, the donors do everything they can do to defend themselves. But you cannot expect them to act like human, because they really are not human.
It's not hard to see that there is an alien technology to help humans to create totally passive, non-violent and obedient species (that's where the sci-fi comes from). And they called them farm donors, they are basicly just a bunch of poor copies of god's image. No wonder they can't paint properly (i mean did you see the elephant tommy painted?), because they have no soul!
Throughout the movie we've been given signals of there could be a saviour, there could be one with a soul. For years, the farm management organized fake galleries to find him/her. They looked at every art piece the children made, but they couldn't find it. That's why they didn't fight for their ... (this review is intentionally left incomplete just as is the movie)

Wow honestly, I've never thought about this before. This movie might as well be a well crafted piece if what you said was really true. I mean I can definitely see how aliens could've taken place in the script. Well done, good spotting.

No, the whole point was that the clones all have souls. If you had read the book, maybe they would have been more clear. They were very sheltered and treated as if they were subhuman their entire lives, maybe that's why they never thought to fight back. Learned helplessness.

They never said in the movie (or the book) that there could be a "savior" or "one" with a soul. They never said they never found a clone with a soul. In fact I think they said in the book that they used the artwork to "prove" that they did have souls.

That's the really sad thing about the whole story. The clones all have souls, and they're just like humans essentially, but they're being victimized and discriminated in the most inhumane ways, by humans, who no one has ever doubted all have souls.
