Madame's seafront home
I see that some of the movie was filmed in the seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare? Was that where Madame's seafront home was? The street of attached houses was so beautiful.

shareIn the novel Madame's seafront home was in Littlehampton.
I can't remember if the name of the town was actually mentioned in the film, maybe the film makers thought Weston-Super-Mare looked more picturesque? I've seen another film that was set in Long Island but was shot in Nova Scotia.

It doesn't look like Weston-Super-Mare. The beach-side houses are much more warn down and are more likely to be pastels -

I think it was all filmed on the west coast (Norfolk, where they were supposed to be, is east coast). Probably one of the small seaside towns in Somerset.
It was Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.

The scenes on and by the pier were filmed in Clevedon, North Somerset.
