The morality of cloning

Others have complained that this film skirted around the morality of cloning to concentrate on relationships and on the nature of humanity.

However the way the film treats cloning as a matter-of-fact aspect of society is a comment in itself. Children raised to be compliant aren't natural. This is a horror story exposing similar attitudes to those in Germany where millions were marched to their deaths. If the film maker (and author) had stridently preached that the society was unnatural and evil, we would not be able to see ourselves in the mirror. As it is, the horror comes from seeing a society much like ours and too close to what we might become if we disregard our own humanity and especially the humanity of others.
