The most stupid movie ever

This movie is the dumbest thing ever... I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but really... thousands of people bred for organ donation, I can buy that, IF they are kept unaware of the circumstances...
Thousands of people, clones, whatever, who know they are going to have to gove away there organs, 99percent of them would be on the next boat to syria as refugees...
Dumbest, most annoying movie ever.

Nah, the movie is fine. The whole base of the setting is that they've managed to create perfect clones. If you can understand that, it's simple to see how they'll have the means to make sure there is no alternative for the donors, no escape. Everyone is against them anyway as explained in the latter scene when they confront their teachers. Also the movie doesn't paint the whole picture, it shows only a fragment of the clones. There could be plenty of clones fighting back, resisting, escaping etc. that are simply not shown because that's not the point of the film.

As for reality, there's always been a ton of people being "harvested" in some way or another and that still holds strong nowadays. Countless people mostly in Africa and Asia are working under awful conditions so that the more developed countries can live the life they live. Practically almost every cloth, device, anything really is made by modern slaves.

As for being annoyed, the setting was clear early in the film. If it's not for you, you can decide not to keep watching.

actually, have seen the movie twice now, because japanese tv just turned the movie into a drama series. my wife is a fan of that tv show so wanted to see the original movie...
i pretty much agree with what you said, but if they are perfect clones that are programmed to be compliant, then why are all the characters trying to find ways of donating organs, and why, if the boys character was capable of feeling rage, didnt he freak out and rebel against the people telling him to commit suicide..?
and why didnt they just go to the beach steal a boat and sail off into the sunset??
anyway, guess I'm just grounded in reality...

reply

sorry, part of that should have read...

why are all the characters trying to find ways of AVOIDING donating organs, and why, if the boys character was capable of feeling rage, WHY didnt he freak out and rebel against the people telling him to commit suicide..

[/i][/purple]Stupidest post EVER! You're OK with people being bred for organ donation without their knowledge, REALLY? And Syrian refugees are migrating in the thousands to ESCAPE Syria - how can you be ignorant of that? ALMOST your stupidest post ever, but then you went on to attack He Named Me Malala and got even stupider.

oceanpagan, I'm pleased you enjoyed the movie. it was obviously made to appeal to the likes of you. You obviously don't understand the concept of sarcasm... (The Syria comment) And to be honest I could hardly understand your English. I'm guessing you are American, as everything about your reply, your photo etc sinks of ignorance. Anyway, have a nice day...
I'm sure you'll go on living oblivious of just how mentally challenged you are.

reply

Darlin', don't ever take a Southern woman for granted! I was tested for Mensa in 1980 and I can give you my Mensa membership number if you want me to. I'm not mentally challenged in any way whatsoever! The LIKES of me - generalize much, do you? I don't think that sarcasm has any place here at all. If you post before you ever see a movie, then you're just an *beep* BYKT. *pets your sweet little head in my own imitable Southern way and leads you right back to bed, where you belong, bless your heart*

reply

didnt read your reply until today...
when i hear a person say they have 'been tested by Mensa' that always raises a red flag...
the need to go to some organization, so as when in future said person is called an idiot, they can then say "no i'm not an idiot, mensa tested me and they said I was quite intelligent" makes me think you are an even bigger idiot.

"Dumbest, most annoying movie ever."

"That is SO not true."

Mark Romanek should stay at shooting Taylor Swift

i think the setting with giving organs, dying eventually, is just a story driver. the movie would also work if they had cancer and would know that they have to die on day x. it's not about depicting how that society works but the relationship between the 3 main characters.

reply

Actually, more people would agree that Freddy Got Fingered is the most stupid movie ever.
