Hilary Swanks in a

What the hell is Hilary Swanks taking a role like this when she usually is very strict when it comes to the movies in which she wants to be in. Only reason I can think is that - the director Jokinen has said that this role is a perfect fit for Swanks.

However - the movie is a combination of 1987 movie Fatal attraction & Roman Polanskis The tenant. Already from here it is possible to say that the movie will be a psychological thriller. I think The Tenant is just a montage from Polanskis own psychologocal world that technically is rotten and sick. Add to this that the director hasnt really done anything worthwhile; has done some music videos that only makes the scenario worse.

Lets hope that Jokinen has same kind of talent that David Fincher had...both have a music video director background.

LOL! Jokinen's videos are completely average there's no talent shining there. And even talented video directors usually make bad films.

I don't know if this movie is going to be good or bad, but Hilary Swank hasn't exactly been good at picking 'em.

She was, after all, in "Sometimes They Come Back...Again," "The Black Dahlia," and "The Reaping."

Come on cut her a little slack, "Sometimes They Come Back...Again" was before she got famous enough to be able to pick roles (post "Boys Don't Cry").

I will agree that the "Black Dahlia" and "The Reaping" were craptastic movies.

I think this is a perfect role for Hilary. She was excellent in Insomnia, Boys Don't Cry, The Gift and The Reaping. She definitely knows how to act in thrillers and dramas, and I have full faith in her pulling off the role in this.

Plus, it sounds great. Love psycho thrillers.

Personally, I think Hilary Swank can do no wrong. That doesn't mean all the films she's in are great pieces of art; I just find her work in them, however drab the film, to be decent to great.

I've noticed a trend, though. I feel like she makes movies to stay in the public eye, and to get a decent check, i.e. "PS I Love You," "The Reaping," "Freedom Writers," then throws a few brilliant pieces in there like "Boys Don't Cry," "Million Dollar Baby," and "Iron Jawed Angels." Again, I thought she was the only thing worth watching in "Freedom Writers," and she made a god-awful script bearable in "PS I Love You" (the source material is even worse, if you can believe it). We'll see which category "Amelia," "Betty Ann Waters," and "The Resident" will fall under.

That being said, I adore Hilary Swank.

Actors are people who act. This is what they do for a living, and you go where the work is.

However bad BLACK DAHLIA may have been, the producers' checks cleared the bank. In any job, that's the main issue.
