....But it made for a pretty nifty make-em-up scene, eh?
Interesting: the Duke of Wellington in this movie was played by Rupert Everett...who was Julia Roberts' witty and sexy gay best friend in "My Best Friend's Wedding"(not about Everett's wedding.)
That was made 26 years ago and Everett has aged quite a bit in the face. I only knew it was him because I read ahead of time Everett would play the role.
PS. Rod Steiger played Napoleon and Christopher Plummer played Wellington in "Waterloo"(1970.) I can't remember if THAT movie staged a meeting between the two.
PPS. In Woody Allen's "Love and Death"(1975), Woody and Diane Keaton set off to assassinate Napoleon and spy on him in a room pressuring his chefs to create "the Napoleon" dessert. Nap yells: "We must invent the Napoleon before our enemies invent the Beef Wellington."
