Predictable formulatic Hallmark shallowness

Just before this movie, there was another Hallmark movie on, "The Christmas card." Similar plot, at the end the beautiful girl dumps her plain looking, frowning, over bearing boyfriend for the mysterious, handsome, GQ fashion model that she thought she wasn't that interested in, that's about to leave town for good. Blech. Carbon copy movies.
Hallmark USED to make believable caring movies that weren't predictable or too sugary. How about this; The stranger or soldier visiting the town, is visibly scarred, or handicapped, maybe a burn victim, and the boyfriend or fiance looks like the male model. In the end she winds up with the former. But with the movies and the television shows made now, the gorgeous female hero of the movie would never fall for the homely guy, it has to be just another episode of "The Bachelor".
