You don't have to be under 30 to enjoy the show.

One of the persons posting a "review" on August 7, 2010 generalized that because one "older" person didn't get the show's humor, that you basically have to be under 30 to appreciate Children's Hospital and the rest of the Adult Swim lineup. I'm 47, and I completely get the humor. Much of Adult Swim's shows (particularly the actual cartoons) reference many cartoons and characters from shows of the 1960s and 1970s, which I grew up on. And if you look at many of the actors and writers, they're WELL OVER 30. Don't bunch all the older folk into a category of "not getting it." I, like many other friends around my age love these shows. I'm thankful that they exist since most television shows these days have been too common. And yes, I even enjoy Tim & Eric!

For the record, I'm 22...

And also, for the record, I like Aqua Teen Hunger Force (very much, actually). Hate Robot Chicken, and... The Brak show is okay I guess. Also, I enjoyed the last season of Moral Oral and love the Venture Brothers and (especially) the Boondocks. So... Yeah. I also pointed to another over-the-top, satirical hospital show that got it right. I mean, it's the SAME type of humour... Except funny. Please, please check out Garth Marenghi's Dark Place - They EVEN showed it on Adult Swim for the purists out there. I had actually watched it years previous as I'm into British television and was thrilled when Adult Swim picked it up. Just wish it was a little longer...

Really hate Tim and Eric. Really, really hate Tim and Eric. It's made me vomit before (okay, I'm pretty sensitive to really gross stuff, but whatever), which no show ever SHOULD.

Maybe I AM missing something. I don't know - I just prefer my satire to be, well, satirical and not just over-the-top ridiculous. That's why the clown-faced director was a killer for me, you know? That wasn't satirical - that was just silly. Each person has their own opinion though, and I mean, it seems petty to argue over that. That's mine, and it's fine if some people love it - I just... Don't, really. Overall, I didn't hate it - I just thought it was bad-mediocre. ^^

It's not just satirical, the majority of the humor is based on absurdism. This makes total sense when you realize David Wain is involve and pretty much all his shows are pinnacles of absurdist humor.

I think if somebody enjoyed an old slapstick movie like Airplane, they could certainly appreciate this.

I love this show. Its just silly and fun. The more I watch it, the funnier it gets. Its no Arrested development or anything crazy like that. But it is what it is and I find it very funny at times. Sometimes mindless, pointless and over the top hits the spot.

I wish it was a full blown half hour series. But I don't think anyone involved in the show is doing this for the riches. They all seem to just be having fun. And it shows.

I agree. I'm 40 and watch most shows on Adult Swim. If anything, I think the shows on AS caters to the over 30 crowd. As pointed out already, most of the creators, writers, and actors of these shows are well over 30. And a lot of 70's & 80's references too (especially on Robot Chicken).

I most completely agree, though I am 31 :p But the best comedies I have seen have been made by 28 to 50 year olds lately, and even saying that, I truly believe age has nothing to do with humor... its all about your sensibilities. Those who are easily offended; or confused for that matter should stick to rated pg 13 crap :)P

Agreed. I'm 45 and love this show. And I never watched "ER", "Chicago Hope" or "Scrubs"... but I did like "St Elsewhere" for its borderline absurdism.

I'm 33 and I think the hospital intercom is one of the funniest things on TV ever. That's all.
