Does anyone know if the the production team are going to do any further performances such as missed scenes from the books or anything? (Tom Bombadil and Fog on the Barrow Downs would be great!)

There is another project "Born of Hope" in the pipeline... http://www.bornofhope.com/ a more in-depth story into the history of the rangers.

Also a low budget, independent fan film... the Born of Hope crew crossed over with the Hunt For Gollum crew and they shared resources.

Nothing else connected to LOTR is in the pipeline afaik

How about The Return of the Shadow, Tolkein's abandoned sequel to LOTR? I'd love to see that made into a short film. Even though it's only an introductory chapter, I still love it as a standalone story.

There is a sequel to this film. It's called "Lord of the Rings".

It's a bit confusing, but The Return of the Shadow is actually the draft version of the first part of LOTR. Tolkien's abandoned sequel is The New Shadow.
