I like this film a lot.

I like it because it makes the viewer decide for themselves whether Nell is possessed or not. Like a lot of things can be explained logically but then those who believe in being possessed would see another side to it, I like that it doesn't come down heavily on either side of the argument.

If you're going to review a film, you really should watch it to the end. That's my advice.

Cliff Notes: She was possessed. Hence the demon baby and the giant demonic flames.

These bastards!

...... I did watch it to the end, would be stupid if I didn't.
I, personally, thought the ending could have been ambiguous, we saw how much showmanship went into the first exorcism, the priest fella could have done what Cotton had done before, using chemicals to make the fire go high. It's a possibility he could have induced a miscarriage on Nell to create the "demon baby" illusion. Or could have been none of things and like you said, she is possessed. That's what I liked about it. It's down to the individual audience member how they choose to see the film.

I don't think the small amount of chemicals Cotton used or a miscarriage could cause Nell's full-grown baby to look like a spinosaurus...

Hail to the king, baby.

I like the movie too. People hate any found footage film by default which isn't fair to me. Yes, there are many horrible found footage movies but also a handful of good ones so I don't find it fair to say that whole subgenre is worthless as a whole.
