Ditto - I missed the last half hour and also most of the first hour proving to the gf that is was Sarah Harding. Thanks IMDB for conclusively clearing that up.
The reason I started watching in truth was because I thought I'd flicked onto an ep of The Wire. Up to last night I had no idea Councilman Thomas 'Tommy' Carcetti was Oirish!

Spoilers:
Jim lost his job (after falling asleep on night duty) and home due to no funds, moved into a small flat but seemed happier after that.He had his family.
Dave remained in his job and was slagging off the people who got us into this mess (him being one) as part of the patter to his future customers to keep them in his pocket. Jim caught up with him, yelled and smacked him about but that was it.
Gus lost his job, realised he had nothing else left. Cracked up and commited suicide on a emotional high.
I feel more time was needed to this story justice.
2 aging multi-millionares made Jim and Dave swap jobs for a bet. Jim excelled as the sharp talking mortgage salesman whereas Dave sank into a downwards spiral of drink and drugs. Eventually they teamed together and... oh hang on , that's 'Trading Places'...

Actually, Dave lost his job with the firm for not fully informing his customers of the steep increases in their mortgage payments after the first year. We find out (after Jim gives him a verbal once over) that he goes on to sell solar panels to rich households.
