Confused by the The Ending...spoilers

So in the movie it starts off with Rafiki reminiscing with Simba's baby daughter Kiara about her Grandfather Mufasa's childhood and how he became king and all...
Then at the very end of the movie it goes back to the present time it is announced that Kiera has a new baby brother !

I'm just a bit confused because I assume this means they are planning a sequel to the 2019 remake?....but in the Sequel to the original version (Lion King 2-Simba's Pride) Simba's daughter didn't have a brother or any siblings that I recall? Did I miss something ? Wasn't Kiera Simba and Nala's only child?

So are they planning on changing the story in the next sequel, and going a different direction than the original one? Anybody heard or know anything about this?
