Too little, too late Disney

This is something I would’ve loved to see as a kid, especially shortly after the first Lion King movie came out. I would’ve loved to see a prequel or a TV series exploring the relationships of the lions in the Pride Lands and continue the world building. I definitely would’ve loved to see more of Mufasa as a character in his relationship with Scar and Sarabi and everyone else further fleshed out.

But it’s too late Disney. I don’t trust you to do it right. Not with the way you talk down to kids and retcon and contradict everything in the Lion King universe with the very insulting Lion Guard cartoon, and as a prequel/sequel to the god awful CGI remake? Forget it, dude. I hope this makes your empire tank.

Well, if Mufasa started out as a female before the first film, maybe that would tickle your interests.

….Huh?🤨

I second that confused emoticon.

Which makes it all the more rewarding when you find it.

Thing is, it may not be the best movie, but it most certainly will make tons of money.
The Lion King (2019) is the 9th highest grossing film of all time, at 1.6 billion dollars.

Disney’s films have been (deservingly) failing and losing big money at the box office in recent years. More people seem to be waking up, hopefully more will wake up in time to give this movie the even bigger flop it deserves.

reply

More people are waking up? If only there were an adjective to describe that...

reply

That adjective means the opposite of what it says.
