What I got was this:
there was Brody (alive and in the car)
Dead guy in the back seat
Dead guy outside of car (cougar tring to eat it, Brody shot at cougar)
Dead guy on side of logging road (Cougar food)
"...So rip off our halos & pull out our pitchforks..."
@uirisg_halfling: You forgot the dead guy in the cave - the hunter who took some of the stolen money from the trunk.
In total: FOUR dead guys; three robbers and one hunter.
Of course there was a fourth guy in the back seat with a gun... there were 3 robbers plus Brody, that makes 4. He was not, however, the guy at the end.

Yeah, it was the guy on the side of the road.
No. The guy that picked him up was a park ranger that was dispatched via Brody's 911 call. He made that call with the cell phone he fond on the black hunter who was dead in the cave. If you recall, he was the same man that was an opportunist and stole the money out of the trunk, to only be attacked by a mountain lion shortly thereafter.
The park ranger was a separate character played by a different actor (Jacob Blair)....and NOT a hallucination.
The ending is straight-forward... no spooky or mind-blowing twist.
EDIT. To further clarify the men/separate actors:
Three white bank robbers (took Brody hostage)
One black hunter (stumbled upon car and took some money)
One park ranger (rescued Brody after 911 call)
Brody's unnamed character (finally makes it out alive with a returning memory)
