but who the hell was the dead black dude in the cave ?
The same guy who was stealing the money out of the trunk (don't you just love the fact that they HAD to make him black?).
It's unclear whether he was a hallucination or not. I personally think it was a hallcination.
aha... forgot all about him...! yeah total cliché having a token black guy to kill off.

You did notice that the 3 bank robbers who stole the money in the first place were white, didn't you? And I believe they made him black so that you would know it was him who was dead in the cave and not one of the bank robbers who were in the car.
Also, it seems fairly obvious that he was real because we saw the money trail leading into the cave and we saw his corpse and his personal items in there, including the phone Adrian Brody's character used to call the park ranger. It's kind of hard to call from a hallucinatory cell phone.
Actually the driver was biracial.
We had an open call for the character stealing the money . We had no preconceived notions of the character's background. Adrian Holmes gave by far the best audition. He's a great guy and a wonderful job. His career since has really taken off. We believe that the strongest actor should get the job. Don't you?
