How come he ended up back

at the car wreck again? How was that even possible? I mean the likelyhood of having ended up moving in a perfect circle and ending up at the EXACT same spot you came from must be microscopic.

I don't think that half of what we watched even happened. He was hallucinating a lot. No food; no drink. Cold, tired ...

It happens a lot in movies. See "CUBE". The characters spend all this time trying to get out and end up in the same place they once were.

Hallucinating!! the woman, the crawling, the strangling her, the gunshot, all illusion caused by his mind.

he couldn't even remember who HE was much less who the woman was or what happened. He was using random memories in his subconscious to create the hallucinations.

Also, who knows how many "days" or hours he was actually awake and trying to crawl out? He could have been out for a couple of hours, and then had all the hallucinations, etc for a day and a night, and then tried to crawl out.

so he was probably there 2-3 days total and as for the dog and the rapids, HAH...the dog maybe was the hunter's dog and they drank water at that stream. his hallucination about the woman led him back to the car according to Wikipedia.

This is quite common for people lost in the woods.

Yes, I know it's common to end up walking in circles. But to end up at the EXACT same spot you started out 2 days ago?

It's a plot contrivance. Doesn't make much sense in the real world; it's one of those overdone screenplay things that are up there with "it was all a dream".

While some people in the real world can get lost in the woods and end up back where they started - from losing perspective and direction - it's not quite the same when you go down in altitude on a river via its rapids. The only way that can happen is if Brody had climbed up initially to a high point where he reached a river that would go back down and curve around to the area in which he first started. However, he started walking downhill at first. So in that case he would've had to head way back up the mountain in order to meet the river...to come back down and around. Whew!

Yeah the guy sure was active for someone with no food, no water, serious head trauma and a leg that is shattered to pieces, eh?
