I enquired in an email as to whether the film had begun production on schedule in November and received this response from Geoffrey Sass (Chief Marketing Officer):

Regarding your recent inquiry about the new Bela Tarr film - principle photography is now scheduled to begin in January. Thanks for your interest and support.

Thanks for that link.

I'm sad to see firmer confirmation of Tarr's intentions to retire from filmmaking.

I enquired again, and was told "At this time, production has been delayed; however, we anticipate completion of the film for Cannes 2010."

Can't wait for Cannes next year then.
