Showrunner reportedly didn’t want Page character to be trans

According to reports, Steve Blackman, co-creator and showrunner of Netflix‘s The Umbrella Academy, wasn’t happy when Page wanted her character to be trans too.

In a text-message exchange to an unnamed recipient, he wrote “Elliot [Page] wants to come out as trans on the show. As Ivan. Oh my f—king God. Kill me now.”

In a statement to Rolling Stone, a representative for Blackman claimed that his agitation about transitioning Page’s character stemmed from the workload required to rewrite the character’s arc when Season 3 scripts were already complete, and was not meant to indicate Blackman’s lack of support for Page, a transgender actor.

Of course, now disgruntled and fired staff members are using the text to accuse him of being transphobic, along with other accusations.

But during an investigation into those claims, only the ones that Blackman had made “inappropriate and unprofessional remarks” and used “foul and derogatory language” were substantiated.

He was right. They should have just replaced her.

That's because if Ellen would still play woman then no one would take seriously her transition. So she insisted of changing her character. So they had to quickly introduce her change and everyone accepted her and called Victor.

They should have just bring Victor from another timeline like they did with Ben. Different character. And kill/lose Vanya. She was the worst anyway.

Now that show is over we will never see her again in anything worthy. She was very lucky to get into this ensemble. When her career was over long time ago. And she was the worst part of it. Hated Vanya from the day one.
