from Vanya to Viktor

Not surprised, makes sense, I figured something like that would happen. Though honestly I feel like it could be cooler to be done by magic or something, just fun and different. I don't mean that to make light of it, but just more whimsical.

It makes me feel queasy.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure you never had a chance with Ellen Page anyway, and I doubt you will with Elliot either.

I was expecting it to be magical too, or something weird because the show is so bonkers lol

I liked the way they did it though. It showed the families love and acceptance and then it just became normal, not such a big deal, which was nice.

Never watched this but that's as good a recommendation for a program as I've heard.

It’s pretty great. Worth a try at least. Good writing and smart handling of social issues I think!

reply

Good writing? I disagree. The dialogue sounds as if Page was heavily involved in creating it. The Page character is all the time either whiny or bitchy or just annoying. Not really a progress. The character is totally useless but somehow gets plenty of screentime to show the total absence of any talent.

What do you mean? I don’t know much about her personally, not enough to recognize her dialog anyways.

reply

It sounds at times like a justification to what she did to her body. Pure messaging with no real necessary relation to the show.

reply

Oh, I see what you mean.

It did relate to the show since the character was sexually experimenting in the last season. Also it was as affirmation for other trans individuals who don’t get to see themselves portrayed in movies and television very much.

I enjoyed seeing the character become at peace within themselves and that they didn’t make too much of a big deal about it.

reply

They didn't dwell on it.

It was fine.
