How accessible is this film (for those not particularly into poetry)?

Hi everyone,

I was planning on watching this with my parents later, but I wasn't sure if they'd enjoy it. I can't tell from the trailer how interesting this would be for people who aren't familiar with the beat generation poets. Is it quite accessible? And is there much of a thriller element, or is it more of a drama? Are there loads of scenes where they are having impenetrable, intellectual discussions about form and verse, etc?

It's more of a drama than a thriller. The discussions about form and verse are not impenetrable at all, though there are some. But the murder and the relationships are more interesting if you know the beats and are interested in the story as a curious period incident. Otherwise the acting is excellent but they don't do much with the murder or it's aftermath. The period atmosphere is excellent but some of the college behavior is a bit cringey.
