There's not much comparison but my loyalty is to Carpenter.

I will never deny the artistry in anything Rob Zombie does. This movie is well made in my opinion. It's the perfect blend of disturbing imagery, jump scares, suspense, gore and a $#!+load of anger.

But my loyalty goes to the original H2. Sure, the hospital segment is really all there is, but there's something special about a horror flick that grips you with the same sense of dread, using nothing more than some piano music and a shadowy figure lurking the hallways.

I agree. It didn't really offer anything interesting. It was a mess.

The problem with this version of the movie is Rob's wife being in it. Don't get me wrong because I like her but there was no reason for her to be in it and it felt like he somehow made up a part for her...To make her happy. If she hadn't have been in it, it would have been great. Shame really.

Unmasked, speaking, growling, grunting, wearing a heavy hooded coat. Not Michael. Laurie, Loomis all destroyed characters, unlikeable. The fake hospital dream sequence, waste. His wife was the least of this film's problems.
