Shocked!

I actually liked this movie. (aside from the long ass concert scene)

I especially love how violent Michael is. The kills feel very real.

I liked it as well. I love the surreal, dreamlike, otherworldly quality it has. Especially the sequences with Michael's mom, young Michael, and the white horse.

I loved it! Its soo much better than the hate poured down on it. The Director's Cut is a brutal, unrelenting masterpiece.

I agree - with 1 under the belt the mystery element was all done, time to crank up the threat level. This MM is a freakin' tank who will smash his enemies into the ground if he has to.

The white horse was garbage, horror.

I used to think that, but after plenty of rewatchings, I now appreciate more Zombie's trawling through the entire canon to ad different elements to HIS H2, and using other elements that he has clearly researched.

As far back as Paleolithic times, the white horse has been a symbol of a connection between the everyday world and the afterlife or the land of the gods. Whether Zombie meant that there was an actual link to the afterlife going on in 2, or he was showing the that weird psychic link between Micheal and his sister (canon) was manifesting itself laced with ideas brought from both Micheal's and Laurie's respective psyches (with the horse coming from Mike's side, as shown earlier when he was a boy), it's a good twist all round, imo.

Don't get me wrong - I initially hated it the motif. It took some time for me to change how I thought about it.

Clever or not, it's still stupid and a poor excuse to put his wife in yet another one of his movies. We really didn't need young Michael or Dead Deborah Myers. It would've been fine without that layered "twist". When it's too complex or deep for the general audience to get it on first viewing, ie it goes over their heads, it's usually a bad idea. You have to dumb it down. Halloween is not a thinking man's movie. None of them were. Besides, this is Rob curse every other word white trash hillbilly Zombie as seen in his previous films. Deep is not in his wheel house.
