Which is really weird and wasteful if you think about it. I mean let's face it, the first and second films have 2 discs, the first film is the 2007 Blu Ray while the second is the more recent 35th anniversary edition. II has both theatrical and TV cuts. Hell, 6 has both theatrical and producer's cuts. It wouldn't have killed them to include both versions of Rob's 2 films, it's not like the price would've gone up that much. Especially for those of us who prefer the theatrical escape scene.
Or even better, take a second, make a master cut (workprint, theatrical escape and director's black and white flashback scenes). Not like they didn't have the means, time and money.
But no, whoever made the decision to excluded the theatrical versions just forces people to get the DVDs. Which is what I did.
Not sure who's call it was, Akkad or Zombie to go director's cuts, but it was a bad one. But for me, given neither is the jewel of the crown of this franchise, I'm not overly bothered.
OT what does bother me is that the Halloween box set with more discs costs less than the Friday box with less discs. Are they dipped in gold? I'd really like the Friday set, but not at those prices.
