Put it on the Scy-fi Channel

ABC is stupid they constantly canceled good shows prematurely. "V" would be an excellent addition to the Scy-fi channel. If Southland can be saved why no other high quality programs???

SyFy announced a long time ago, that they will never again pick up already cancelled tv-shows from other networks. One thing that also is a part of their strategy after they changed the entire look on that network after they changed their name from SciFi to SyFy, wich btw also has cost them tons of viewers.

Don't ever count on that network any more. It went from being one of the best networks to be one of the most borring in the bussiness.

And MST3K, too, although I think that show fitted better on the Comedy Channel. Still, many seasons of great entertainment there.

Flat, drab passion meanders across the screen!

That's exactly the reason they changed their name to SyFy - it's no longer a solely a science fiction oriented network.

reply

[deleted]

What do you mean solely? There's no sci-fi on it anymore.

reply

I guess it's more of a "speculative fiction" channel - horror, fantasy, and yes, some science fiction.

reply

Except it's just wrestling and *beep* reality shows.

reply

Quality programs? Isn't this the V message board? Yeah, it's not Syfy hasn't canceled shows after a short amount of time, or popular shows to make room for something new... *cough cough* Stargate Universe Tremors Stargate Atlantis Farscape **cough cough*

Ok, Eureka is still on since 2006, but it has had short season, and it's not going to be on the air forever. Will Eureka still be broadcasting in 2162, with a whole new cast, with non stop continous new season every single year? I doubt it.

Shows get canceled, it happens. Invest less time in television, it's entertainment and fun, but no reason to have a tumor over ABC canceling a low rated show that wasn't high quality. It was poorly written crap (imho of course)

Well said. I really don't understand why people get up in arms about these cancellations. I'm disappointed when quality television gets canceled before its time (Deadwood, Arrested Development) but I would never start screaming about boycotts or join live protests.

If one wants to be sure that there will be some closure to a story, one should read a book.

It Sucks big time when a show you like gets cancelled, especially one that needs closure. But you two have a good point it's NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. Just "grieve" a little and move on! Find another thing you like to do or another show to watch.

Every time I decide to tune it to something (which really isn't very often), it gets canceled and leaves me hanging. Seriously, who wants to waste time on a show and not have any sort of conclusion? I don't. Something has changed these days, as it seems that nothing is given a real chance anymore. V is a perfect example of rushing out a product, screwing around as if to ensure that they lose viewers, and focusing on all the wrong things in some half-hearted bad effort to get some attention after it is too late. I just don't really care anymore. I'll just let friends be fans of whatever, buy the DVDs of what they like, and then show them to me if they think they are good (and have run long enough to be worth the time). I won't be tuning in again to any new show, no matter how enticing it may sound. There is nothing wrong with feeling disgruntled, though I do agree that being so angry as to protest and all that junk is kind of silly. I have more important things in life to attend to.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

The SyFy channel's new biz model is to mimic MTV and swirl the drain with reality show poop...cooking shows, Ghosthunters, and WWE. lol That channel sucks and is the single biggest reason I recently canceled Comcast cable. I get all my TV viewing off of Hulu & Netflix now. Anywho, SyFy will never pick up this show...it's too high of a budget and doesn't fit into their now doomed business model to make tons of money by producinig shyt reality programming.

BluAngel76 apparently hasn't watched the SyFy Channel recently (notice no longer "Sci-Fi"). It's the wrestlin' channel now. I'm through with that BS channel now that they've dumped Stargate Universe after only two seasons. That show had brilliant writing, but it required you to think and to actually "imagine greater". Maybe if the actors dance with each other, and allow viewers to vote on their performance, then the retards of our society will watch the show and the ratings will be high enough to keep the show on air.

To be honest, the sad thing is most viewers put more of themselves into shows them most people involved in them. Every actor, director, writer, producer, and executive involved was looking for something else as soon as they heard.

Really, it's just a matter of understanding what's happening. I still watch some tv, but now adays there's less incentive to get attached to something to seriously. Watch shows, enjoy them, but realize they could get canceled before the writers are given a chance to wrap things up. Yes it sucks, but the networks who make money off these decisions don't care so why are we getting upset.

It's tv, not life. To be honest I enjoy talking about movies and tv now then actually watching it.

Well said. It would be nice to see a revival, but I am being realistic: only a few shows have had that miracle. And fewer shows who get that revival last a long time.

There are few shows that I look forward to on network TV. I know it's plug can be puilled anytime someone feels like it.

Life goes on.

I haven't had cable for three years now. It's sad to see what has happened to the Sci-Fi channel. From what has been posted here, it don't look like "V" belongs on "SyFy."

Time to let go.
