2x04

As always, spoilers below

Wow, poor Daryl can't catch a break. First there were (THERE WERE!) sparks between him and Beth that never got a chance to go anywhere. Then his fling with Leah that ended horribly. Then sparks again with Connie that just never really went anywhere. And now Isabelle. Damn. Once Isabelle said she loved him, I knew she was a goner. I guess I just expected it in 5 or 6, closer to right before I expect they'll depart France for America. Just not meant to be for her. Plus, they're clearly wrapping up the France storyline, so the characters either need to die, go to America, or be gifted with their own spin-off (joke, I hope). But I didn't expect it this soon. It's nice that she got to meet Carol, and good that Daryl got to be with her, and nice it was Carol who at least made it happen. Honestly I was worried that Carol would mistake Isabelle for an enemy and kill her. But, I also hate how it happened. It feels like the writers didn't want Daryl, Carol, and Isabelle to all have a prolonged interaction, so it's the easy/lazy way out. Very much "Move over, the real leading lady is back and we don't need you no more, not enough room on the plane back." Because it'll clearly be Laurent who goes, he has the most character shield. I remain convinced Ash will die, just remains to see how/when. And I know some root for Daryl and Carol to get together, but I don't want that. I'll try not to hate it if it happens, but I love them as friends and not everything needs to get romantic.

Genet's suggestion to kill the old couple to use them to hunt Daryl and Carol was stupid. You know they're close because the eggs are still warm, and you want to wait for them to turn to hunt for you? And why wouldn't they just go for Genet & Co, since they'd have been closer? Probably just a line before killing them, then they'd have left to hunt for themselves.
