Not one character asked Daryl "How is it in America? Better? Is there society and order?"

If you are living in apocalypse world and you run into person from another country, even overseas. Isnt your first reaction to ask them how thing are over there and if they handle apocalypse better and if they have civilization?

This is natural reaction. Yet it seems that no one cared when Daryl proclaimed he is American and came from America. They were like: "Cool dude. Whatever. Check. I know English and can speak to you on your language".

And I think little boy spoke it too? Despite being born in after everything went down and no schools are anymore. And French people are notoriously known for refusing to learn English because they think their own language is fine and popular. So that boy would have no one to speak to him in English and teach. And for what purpose?

Or maybe I missed and someone did ask him?

No, no one asked him. Good catch.

In episode two it comes up, but not from a French person. I won't say much in case you haven't seen it yet.

I saw second episode. And forgot almost everything that was going on there. Ok there were some kids and castle. It was like de-tour and a filler episode on their quest to that villain lady. And they only have 6 episodes. And already have fillers.... Shows how much they were dedicated to solo Daryl show.

I think it did come up but I forgot when and who. Oh yeah, I remembered. There was trashy american character who wanted to come back to his family in USA and Daryl told him there is nothing to come back for and his family is dead. I was fastforwarding boring talk. Maybe one of those french kids asked him at the dinner?

Looking at that trashy american I noticed that maybe people thought that Daryl did not come from USA but simply stayed in France since the beginning of apocalypse. Thats why they didnt ask upon meeting. But nuns, creepy kid and few others knew he came from USA just recently. And didnt ask.

It's possible people thought he had been there pre-apocalypse.

I also FF'd some of episode 2. There was too much talk, not enough action, too much filler, like you said. I liked the first episode much better.

I actually enjoyed Dead City much more, although it seems that I'm in the minority. I was disappointed it only had 6 episodes. Time will tell whether these two spin offs will make it. There's also another one coming out in a few months with Rick and Michonne.
