anyone else think this shows lost its luster? I wish pendleton ward would come back to work on the show. I miss how zany and over the top everything and everyone was. it was all about them having fun and going on crazy adventures. now everyone sounds like they are on xanex and everythings become really dull. They need to lose the main storylines and focus on random wacky adventures.

shareyes he stepped down and showrunner but he's still working with them doing stuff.
I think when a show has a format it sticks to, change is different and hard to accept for some people, yes the show has deviated from the two leads, but i think it's a good thing for them to try, season 6 was mostly alt characters and those episodes, didn't always work, some where pretty good some not so much.
it's down to opinions.
i hope in this new season they do at least try to balance finn and jake with alts a bit better.

I've watched the first 3 episodes and while they were all pretty decent, they were somber tales focusing on loss, rather than a return to 'goofy adventure' like the writers promised. Heck, Finn and Jake still seem to be stuck on the sidelines.
I mean, they weren't bad and had some good moments (Marceline's wolf form, Starchy not acting like a child, etc.), but the show has yet to go back to basics.
