Couldn't PB help fix Ice King?

Dunno if it's been brought up already as I watch this show pretty sporadically, but why doesn't Marceline, Finn & Jake, or especially Betty get help from Princes Bubblegum regarding Simon's condition? I mean, she cured death, for godsakes, so fixing insanity should be a cakewalk.

You'd think it'd actually be in her better interest to cure his insanity, than to keep having him kidnap her. Though I'll grant he hasn't done that in awhile.

Or maybe this had been explained already?

It's not just fixing insanity, though. If he takes off the crown and becomes Simon again, he dies (at the time of me writing this, anyway). Betty wanted to find a fix for all of it.

Also: I think PB can only resurrect the candy people, right? That's why she once told Finn she can't fix him if he gets hurt
