Why did Benjamin leave Sandoval at his apartment instead of just taking him home? Was it because he was so drunk he couldn't even get into the car? This was the only weak point for me in the movie, considering that the script even explains why he didn't call the wife by phone (cause Sandoval's phone was out of order) but it's not explained why he chose to leave Sandoval and go by his own.
shareHis wife didn't want him home drunk anymore, there was previous scene where she refused to take him while drunk. so Esposito took him home and he went to talk to Sandoval's wife to convince her of taking him home. I think that's it.
shareI think the suggestion is that Sandoval was pretty much an alcoholic which was causing issues with his wife. Benjamin has to convince her to accept him back at the house, rather than drop him off there, after a night on the turps.🐭
