Very fine film. I’m a fan of Argentine movies and this one may well be my favorite. I agree with comments elsewhere that not only does STE hold up to repeated viewings, it actually gets better each time. Great direction and acting, of course, but IMO Federico Jusid’s score, so effective in conveying a backdrop of wispy romanticism, doesn’t get enough attention. The music’s reminds me of Mahler’s Fifth, used in Death in Venice, a film which has some similarities to STE in tone and mood. Eight stars.
