I saw this years ago. I liked it a lot. Although, I don't really remember it completely. (I remember the general plot, and the end.)
I do remember asking the person who recommended it to me, and neither of us could figure out what the "secret in their eyes" was.

I agree with nemirc... but apart from how Gomez and Benjamin looked at the ladies in the pictures, I think the title has a broader meaning too, many times you could guess what the characters were thinking just by looking at their eyes, there was a lot of non verbal communication... for example, most scenes between Ben and Irene, when the 3 of them were standing in the lift, when Gomez was leering at Irene during the investigation, etc... I think eyes conveyed a lot in the whole movie...

There is one part that Esposito says how much he admires him, for going everyday to the train station, yet the husband is not blind by revenge. All that he wants is justice for the love of his life. The husband didn't give up to catch the killer and make him pay, even if it meant not to have a normal life anymore. His life was his beautiful wife.
shareActually, the title is partially lost in translation. Campanella himself said he was unconvinced about the translation. In spanish, "sus" could mean "their", but also "his" or "her". That ambiguity, by all means intentional, is lost in the english title.

The ambiguity is not so intentional, it is unavoidable actually, so it is not by all means intentional, however the translation left Campanella and co. unconvinced because the ambiguity was far better than making it explicit as the translation had done.
