Her performance was quite decent. I have no complaints about it. She played her character quite flawlessly. And that is WHY they choice her to play that role. because the atmosphere of the character is somewhat similar to the other roles she plays. But yes, no complaints. :) Good sense of twistedness (is that a word lol), good emotion, nice flow and decent movement. She performed the role well :)

ummm... well her treatment on screen isn't very rough.. but from her past history... the treatment and her life cause her to make poor life decisions.

Aside from that, there's a really great parallel between Kat and the Defendor's Mother. Which can be seen because Kat is the only person he's really comfortable with you'll see early on. and this is due to the similarities of her and his mother... which i won't spoil for you. :)

Hope that makes sense

Ask if there are anymore questions! :)

Kat is first seen as a prostitute and becomes this because of her past etc. (i forgot the details.. SORRY.. i watched it a REALLY long time ago) and the Defendor befriends her and she is like his only friends really.. And I beleive this is mainly because she reminds him of his deceased mother, whom was ALSO a prostitute (but he doesn't know his mother was a prostitute becasue his main isn't able to put those facts together) But he is connected to Kat and forms a great bond that is IMPERFECT which makes it pretty special and interestingly deep... and basically at the end... he is shot down.. but from this entire process/plot-line he kinda changes Kat to care about her life and existence.. and she becomes sorta like.. SAVED because of him.. And his whole pursue... to avenge his mothers death succeeds even more than his brain can process/realise... because he saved Kat (which is, in a deeper sense, an equvalent of his mother).

This movie has a REALLY fair amount of depth... like that was just the MAIN bigger picture story.. but there is a whole bunch of other messages about the world, society, and the human mind that is all represented in this movie..

But I can tell you that this wasn't a film for the 'average veiwer' because they would understand all the depth (the reading between the lines) in the film... or even begin to appreciate it.

I liked this film a lot.. But the screening didn't include much music/special effects/editing... so it felt a Little bit dragging and kinda slow... but I'm possitive the final picture will be great =)

Try to watch it from the internet!! Download it somehow or check websites... contact me and I'll try to help you out when it comes out =)

Hope this helped, and wasn't TOO confusing haha! =)

Oh yeah! And if you wanna know anything else about the storyline or the main character, etc.. just ask me and I'd be GLAD to explain/help =)

weird how all the questions are about Kat Dennings..anyways, whats the tone of the film, is it a straight up comedy or what? Also a lot of Canadian films lack ambition, hows the cinematography? is it standard shakey cam or are there some nicely planned shots?

Inglorious Basterds is 2009.

The comedy, in my opinion, is done in a very smart way:

Everytime someone laughs.. it represents how people ACTUALLY laugh when an actual mentally-disabled person does something abnormal.

The movie is a reflection of the Defendors internal mind (and what goes on inside there) aswell as how it looks like on the outside.. So basically this movie makes the audience understnad and relate to this type of person... but THEN it will sometimes 'step back' and offer an outside view.. and THOSE are the moments when people laugh because they are (for the split moment) no longer caught up in the character; hence, not as connected with his emotions/feelings/ and reasons for a breif moment: and resort to there corrupted views once more = laughing. Like I said: very smart.. =)

As for what you said about Canadian film-making... it's not all steady cam.. but it's not like.. amazing and stunning shots.. they are pretty stationary with some occasional nice shots/angles here and there.

It's mainly depth in my opinion.. Someone with intellengence, emotions, and mainly an open-mind should check this movie out. =)

Lower budgets, offers risks and non-traditional cinema. To be honest.. in some cases I really do like it better that way.

Check it out and tell me what you think =), I'd be glad to here from ya!

Sandra Oh was excellent: small role.. but she shines on screen regardless =)

It was a very content role of a psyc. doctor.. but she's wonderful never-the-less.. I do wish she had a greater part, however.
