The trailer for this movie is horrible!
After seeing the trailer, I was expecting a comedy, but the movie really is a tragedy. Its a great movie, don't get me wrong, but far from a comedy.

shareI've said the same thing about the trailer. And the bio above in IMDB lists this as a "comedy"?? Definitely not a comdey. More and more trailers are being cut nowadays completely wrong. "Bridge To Terabithia" comes to mind (they were trying to capture some of the mojo from the Harry Potter movies, I think, but that movie was not like that at all); and "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" (I wonder how many moms were PO'd about that one); and "Happy Feet" (singing penguins, but they didn't tell you about the subversive "save our seas", "save our penguins" meaning that the whole movie was about. Gah. I'll get off my soap box now.

while I agree with you about the trailer is completely wrong for this movie
I really hate when the trailers give so much away from the movie, so I actually like it when a trailer doesnt give you an idea of the movie and what will happen.
For example, Book of Eli, the trailer ruined the movie for me because after I saw the trailer I started thinking about the movie and when I finally went to watch it, I had already got an idea of where the movie was going and I still enjoyed it, but not as much as I would have walking in to the theatre with a "clean slate"
Anyways, on a side not at the local movie rental place, they had to affix a sign in front of the DVDs for "Pandora's Labyrinth" saying "THIS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE DO NOT RENT IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN"
I thought it was funny

Every single person on this thread is semi-retarded, and should be banned from IMDb, and from movies in general. That trailer was EPIC, and if you weren't laughing hysterically at this film then you should have been aborted.
shareI didn't find Defendor funny at all. It's definetly not a comedy in my world.
shareYou want me to take you seriously???? Then learn to spell 'definitely'.

I lol'd.
But seriously, this movie had some very funny parts (wasps in a jar, marbles, etc), but overall I'm not sure if its a comedy or drama. Some films really dance on the line (Up In The Air, Royal Tenenbaums, Lost In Translation). You could do like Chaplin and call it a dramatic comedy (or a comedic drama), but it's hard to say it's one and not the other.
A black pool opened up at my feet. I dived in. It had no bottom.
Dramedy!
