I was surprised at the end when Frank is showing the nurse the picture of his daughter and tells her that the man in the picture is Jimmy Hoffa, she didn't say "Oh the guy who disappeared." Because really that's the biggest thing anyone under 50 knows him for.

shareI lived through that era, and I knew who Jimmy Hoffa was ... but Americans were not as well informed. I did not know what was going on with the Teamsters and the Mafia or what the problem was with unions. They have been attacking unions for decades. I would not have been able to ID Hoffa from that picture at that time.
Most people were brainwashed to equate unions or the mafia, and that associate was made as often as possible.
