He really pulled the rug right under DeNiros feet, a real scene stealing performance.

I think this is the best I've ever seen him. Many times I feel like while his acting is great, there's some over-the-top aspect to it that calls attention to just how great it is, and that little something reminds me that I'm watching Pacino act. In The Irishman, he gave a perfect performance, and disappeared into the role in a way I've never before seen him do.

That’ll be Scorsese’s direction. He will have brought Al, and all the great actors in this, to heel, and work in service of a good script based on a real life mystery. This wasn’t a vehicle for the stars, which is what they’re used to.

Pacino was great my favourite performance by far in the film, but in De Niro's defence his character was a lot more subdued.

Agreed. I think he stole the show, but I hardly see anyone saying this. Pesci was good, but DeNiro played the same guy he always plays.

He's always fun in the same way.

However, he was miscast. Hoffa was GERMAN and not Italian.

I was wondering about the "you people" scene because it made no sense as Pacino is extremely Italian looking.
