A question about the advances in technology; possible plot hole (spoilers).

So, the aliens were worried that our technology advances faster than theirs because of the fact that they kept having to start from scratch, however, now that they have left their planet, this would no longer apply, since there’d be no more natural disasters.

This means that in the 400 years it takes to reach us, their technology could now advance at the same pace as ours and since they’re so far ahead of us, it’s unlikely that we’d ever catch up with them.

Provided they had the resources to keep advancing their tech. That could be difficult living isolated in space.

I remember sitting there after binge watching season 1, which I thoroughly enjoyed, thinking, “Hey, wait a minute.” Lol.

I don't see why they wouldn't, given that they have 1000 giant ships and four superhuman AIs the size of planets, two of them on earth!

I meant more like do they have the ability to gather physical resources they may need to create new stuff - eg metals and other raw materials. Would they be able to divert, explore, gather, and then catch up to the fleet again?

Have you ever heard of the "Fermi Paradox"?

First, Ye Wenjie told the alien "Come. We cannot save ourselves.". Then years later, who know what else Mike Evans, the Environmentalist, told them. So if I am the Santi, I would have great concern about what the earth will become in 400 years or whether it will still exist or not.

Aliens really don't need to worry. Lucky if mass civilization is still around in 400 years, probably just small pockets of people.
