Is this still considered the worst entry in the MCU?

By me - of the ones I've seen - yes.

But is that still the general consensus?

... Actually, now that I think about it, that last Thor was the absolute pits! So I guess what we're now asking is whether this is still considered the second worse MCU film? For me, yes.

reply

It is for me. I never watched another one after having to endure this turd in the theater.

reply

Never was.

And if it was, that tag certainly only lasted until Thor: The Dark World was released a few months later.

reply

After the high of the first Avengers movie I was so deflated by "Iron Man 3" that I skipped Dark World at the theater. I regret that, I don't think that "Thor: The Dark World" is that bad of a movie. It could have been better, but was (for me) lots better than IM3.

reply

I used to have "The Incredible Hulk" and "Iron Man 3" tied for least favorite MCU movie but finally decided upon "Iron Man 3". Then, "The Eternals" came out and now it is either "Iron Man 3" or "The Eternals" for worst entry.

reply

I would say Thor: Love and Thunder is the worst.

reply

Yes, I could only withstand watching it up until the point Russell Crowe appeared but I think it surpassed IM3...

reply

Not since Phase 4 started....

Actually, Iron Man 2 was worse than Iron Man 3.

reply

Wasn’t aware such a consensus existed. It certainly isn’t the lowest IMDb rated MCU film, not that I put much stock in such, but just a data point. It’s got a cracking Shane Black edge and Ben Kingsley’s performance is equally menacing and hilarious imo. Other MCU films I rank at the bottom, far below IM3, or even 2:

Shang-Chi
Dr. Strange itMoM
Thor
Quantumania
Love & Thunder

reply

No. Iron Man 2, Thor 3 and 4, and Wakanda Forever are the worst by far.

No doubt The Marvels will join that list too.

reply

For me, no. I generally considered it a middle-tier entry. The first half is terrific and it was on its way to be one of the best MCU films. But then the famous twist happens and deflates all that build-up. It's still fun but remains a missed opportunity.
