No. Because it at least tried to embrace the complexity and psychology of its source material.

Bruce Banner from the comics was acting like a little child with psychological problems. The story which was used as an inspiration for The Hulk, called "Crossroads", had same elements and same psychological portrayal of Bruce Banner.
