Clifton Collins Jr.

What's the deal? Amaury Nolasco, who played Lydia's partner in early season 2 is suddenly replaced by Clifton Collins Jr. without a proper explanation... the man gets a main cast billing and the next episode he's gone? What happened there?

reply

If I were to guess, I'd say it had something to do with the cancellation by NBC and the cuts in the cast after the TNT takeover.

You get used to people coming and going in ensemble shows. Also, in any department of a police division there are comings and goings all the time, so it wouldn't be a shock - the "explanation" (promotion, change of scenerey) obviously happened offscreen!

Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!

Yeah, sure... I was more insterested in the backstage explanation... there was this storyline about Lydia starting to accept her new partner and puff he's gone... Then Collins appears with a main cast billing on the intro for just one episode? That was weird...

And this was after the move to TNT.

"The Runner", which was the Episode he was in, was in season 2. Season two was produced by NBC, but never aired untill TNT picked it up, so it was probably TNT who "cut" him. So him replacing the previous guy, without explaining was NBC's doing. However, TNT could have explained why he was suddenly gone.
