Though I've watched shows that don't and can usually accept them, I prefer to invest hours of my life into something that doesn't end on a "what's going to happen next?" kind of vibe. I'm a fan of The Wire, The Shield, SVU, Dexter, etc. so this popped up in my recommended. Or, if it doesn't end right, is it really good enough to deal with the lack of an ending like some other shows?

you remember vic leaving his desk with his gun in the last scene of the shield? its something like that, ends with a question what happened to them/him
It's not a good series ending, IMO, but you should give the show a chance. There is really only one major plotline that needed to be resolved, the rest are handled adequately.
shareLike Jake here said, it's not the best ending. There was supposed to be another season, but it got cancelled and thus, a few of the plotlines weren't 100% completed.
But you should watch it anyway, because it's so good! I think it's the best cop show ever. With The Shield as a close second.
I thought NYPD Blue was brilliant. Yes the characters were amalgams of all the characters you meet but it worked and I was initially WTF! With the ending being the beginning of a new day but it was the right way to leave a show about police officers and their lives because it does just go on. Sure the characters change but the job still needs to be done. Southland is just better. I've not reached the end yet and in some ways I don't want to but I know it's coming all I can say is I've never felt, not even once, 'well that's an hour of my life I ain't getting back!' It is definitely worth investing your time into watching this show. Ann Biderman has "nailed it" with this. IMO. Enjoy or not but definitely give it a fighting chance unlike the network!
shareIf you guys miss the characters in the show, like I did, thought I'd share that two of the main characters went on to The Walking Dead and Gotham. I plan on watching them there to somewhat satisfy .. the dissatisfaction. ;)
